Book an exclusive self-drive tour of the Private Gardens of the Monaro. We are offering both Spring and Autumn dates, both seasons when the gardens are looking wonderful. These tours are perfect for individuals, couples or small groups wishing to visit the gardens.
The gardens are part of family owned working properties and are rarely open to the public, apart from the very few days in Autumn and Spring when they are open for exclusive self-drive tours of less than 30 guests per tour to ensure visitors have the best possible experience and are able to chat with the garden owners.
The tours are self drive, meeting at the first garden, Hazeldean at 10.00am sharp for morning tea in the homestead and tour of the garden. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of our recommended cafes in Cooma then arrive at Shirley by 2pm for garden tour and afternoon tea. The day finishes at 3.30pm. You can combine a visit to Private Gardens of the Monaro with a trip to the stunning South coast of NSW, known as the Sapphire coast only 1 hour's drive away, and to the magnificent Snowy Mountains and Koscuisko National Park also within an hour's drive. The National Gallery of Australia has wonderful exhibitions throughout the year - NGA Calendar - combine a visit to Canberra with a drive further south to the Monaro and experience her vast and majestic beauty.
Drive time from Canberra - best to allow 1.5 hours. Directions will be forwarded to you prior to your visit. Tours are limited to under 30 to make sure each tour is intimate and exclusive, with time to speak with the owners. Tours will go ahead subject to numbers.
The cost is $220 per person (including GST). We offer gift certificates for christmas, birthdays or special occasions.
